What is couples therapy?
Couples therapy is a therapeutic method in which the members of a relationship go together to a professional to solve different problems that may have arisen over time. Therapy can be performed jointly and/or individually.
In TherapyChat we have several experts trained in couples therapy.
How do you subscribe?
In the case of couples therapy, an account for each person in the couple is necessary, as therapists usually do both individual and joint sessions. This means that both members will have to subscribe to one of the TherapyChat plans. We suggest that both members always subscribe to the same plan (weekly / monthly / bimonthly). This way it will be easier for you and your therapist to organize the sessions.
Once you have selected the plan that best suits your needs, it is important that you select "Couples Therapy: I come with my partner" as the reason for your consultation. This way, both members can be assigned to the same professional.
How do the video calls work?
Together with your therapist, you will agree in advance whether the video call sessions will be done together or individually. It will depend on your preference, and also what the therapist considers most appropriate at the time.
When the sessions are performed together, the duration is usually about an hour and a half and will be counted as two sessions, one per person. Unfortunately the platform does not yet support calls from more than one device, therefore for joint sessions, both members of the couple must make the video call from the same device.
